Dr. Md Foyjul Islam obtained his MBBS degree from Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Bogura,
and completed his MSc in Applied Epidemiology under the University of Dhaka. He is also a graduate
of the Advanced Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP), conducted in collaboration with the
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
His research interests encompass a broad range of public health issues, including women’s health,
mental health, the molecular epidemiology of HPV, influenza, and zoonotic diseases such as anthrax
and Nipah virus. He has actively contributed to outbreak investigations, disease surveillance
evaluations, and public health research initiatives aimed at strengthening evidence-based disease
