Dr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman

Hi, I am Dr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman. My foundational academic achievements include an MBBS (Medicine & Surgery) from Sir Salimullah Medical College under University of Dhaka (2000) while my medical background is strategically enhanced by an MPH in Epidemiology & Reproductive Health, conferred by the State University of Bangladesh in 2008. The rigor of my formal education is continuously augmented by high-level professional certifications, reflecting a commitment to cutting-edge global health paradigms. This includes the highly selective Asia Pacific Leadership Program (APLP) from the East-West Center in Hawai’i, USA (2023), and specialized training in Global Health Diplomacy from the University of Toronto, Canada. Furthermore, I have attained expertise in quantitative analysis through certifications in Infectious Disease Transmission Models from Johns Hopkins University and critical response strategy with a certification in Health Emergency Response from the Hanken School of Economics, Finland.

My professional narrative is defined by over 18 years of technical leadership and strategic oversight within apex global health organizations, including the WHO, US CDC, Gavi, WB and Columbia University across south Asia, the eastern mediterranean, and Africa. my tenure has yielded demonstrable impact in the areas of epidemiological command and emergency response leadership to significant public health crises, including polio, measles, cholera, covid-19, and XDR-TR outbreaks. large-scale program management, capacity development mastery and digital policy innovation. i am worldly-wise in executive management & association affairs, governance, reporting, & financial oversight, includes strategic leadership & managing complex public health programs, partnership development & resource management, convening meetings & documentation, coordination of multisectoral responses, accountability and program monitoring.

As Secretary General, I hereby pledge to serve the Public Health Association of Bangladesh (PHAB) by leveraging my extensive experience to fulfill the association’s responsibilities and commit to its growth and efficiency through ensuring executive management and efficient operations, governance and communication, organizational policy coherence, branch establishment and expansion and financial Stewardship.
